Controller Job Purpose: Maximizes return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Location: Eddystone, PA.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Accounting and Finance experience with a Federal Government Contractor.
  • Knowledge and experience with accounting software (preferably Deltek GCS Premier) utilized in Government Contract Accounting.
  • Management/Supervisory experience.

Controller Job Duties:

Treasury Functions

  • Responsible for all company treasury functions including but not limited to acting on the company’s behalf with financial institutions, approving company payments to vendors, payroll processing and payments, as well as collections from customers.
  • Efficiently manages cash flow through billing and collections processes, banking relationships, and accounts payable processes.

Financial Accounting Functions

  • Records all financial transactions using the DELTEK GCS Premier accounting system in accordance with GAAP, FAR and CAS. Prepares financial statements and analyses utilizing the same DELTEK system. Develops standard reports which can provide valuable information in a concise, useful format. Documents financial process in a controller’s Manual. Maintains and updates the controller’s manual as required to meet business and industry standards.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Provides guidance in areas of States Sales and Use Taxes applicability. File Excise Tax returns (Monthly, Quarterly) for various states for which Delphinus Engineering conducts business.
  • Ensures accurate Revenue recognition in compliance with accounting standards, contract requirements and internal procedures.
  • Protects assets and minimizes financial risk by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
  • Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting internal audits and account reconciliations; provides information to external auditors including but not limited to Certified Public Accountant/ Auditor, DCMA, DCAA, and IRS.
  • Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation including but not limited to FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations), Financial Cost Accounting Standards(CAS), GAAP, and IRS requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
  • Develops a high performance finance team by training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Contributes to the success of the entire organization via candid, timely communications which identify issues and opportunities, develops and executes corrective action plans and capture plans in a professional, efficient manner.

Subsidiary Reporting

  • Will be responsible for monthly subsidiary financial reporting which includes payment of invoices for services related to Real Estate Holding Company.
