GENERAL SUMMARY: The trainer will conduct classroom and practical hands-on training for Trades Safety and Craftsman Work Execution. The audience for this training will be primarily trades supervisors/team leads and hourly mechanics.





  • Plans, develops, and coordinates in-house training programs for field support personnel.
  • Obtains information needed to prepare in-house training programs; prepares training materials; develops course content; determines methodology; and coordinates the development of training aids.
  • Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities. May utilize trainers with technical expertise.
  • Conducts onboarding training with new hires.
  • Continuously revises lesson plans to meet new training requirements and to keep technical information up to date.
  • Develops weekly training topics for trades personnel.
  • Maintain records of training progress, examinations, and certifications.



  • Bachelor’s degree or 3 years’ experience as a military instructor.
  • Three years’ experience in curriculum development.
  • Experience in shipboard repairs and installations associated with SUBSAFE and/or DSS-SOC requirements.



  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Occasional travel and overtime may be required.
  • Must have or be able to possess a DOD Security Clearance.
