Mechanical Assembler I

General Summary: Delphinus Engineering, Inc. is looking for a Mechanical Assembler I to function for a variety of government Ship Repair projects and alterations. Work is performed onboard US Naval ships and military installations in an area that is somewhat uncomfortable due to drafts, noise, and temperature. Work is performed with equipment where carelessness could result in injury and/or death.

Job Location: Norfolk, VA, San Diego, CA, Bremerton, WA, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii


  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must pass background check.
  • Minimum 0-2 years’ relevant experience on U.S. Navy ships.
  • Able to obtain a Security clearance.
  • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.


Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.
  • Assists with the fabrication and assembly of various electromechanical and electronic assemblies.
  • Performs duties as a fire watch and welder’s helper as well as assembling large scale and intricate mechanical assemblies.
  • Receives technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician and work is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices.
